24 Dec 2024
Dear member
Good evening and welcome to my round up email of 2024 - what a year it has been.
Firstly, I am extremely proud to announce that following a recent audit we have been awarded Level 3 FITCert Accreditation, meaning we are a “compliant club”.
What is FITcert and what does this mean for you?
The European fitness club certification scheme is based on the new European standards EN17229. In this scheme fitness clubs are assessed against the criteria of standards to show that they conform to good practice for their operations and management. The scheme has been developed so that clubs can independently demonstrate that they have high customer service standards, and provide a safe and appropriate environment for its users.
Our aim over the next 12-18 months is to apply for Level 4, the highest Level and only a handful of clubs in the UK have been able to gain this accreditation.
Dan Fewings, Operations Director at Mosaic Spa & Health Clubs said “This is a fantastic effort from the team at Holmer Park and very well done to them. It is very reassuring that FITcert have confirmed that our Health and Safety management systems and customer service standards are of a high standard and we look forward to further improving them over the next few months."
Next, I wanted to say thank you very much for your support this year, so much so that our waiting list has remained in place and there is currently an 8-12 week wait to join Holmer Park. Your support has enabled us to continue to invest in the club which this year included a refurbishment of the swimming pool hall, an investment of over £300K. We still have a few things left to do too which include new furniture, refurbishment of the steam rooms and retiling of the ramp/ entrance to the changing rooms.
Another large project this year included restoring the entrance to the club. Like last year when we replaced the windows, I really do enjoy restoration projects at Holmer Park. We are custodians of this beautiful building and looking after it is really important to me and the team.
We have invested behind the scenes too to ensure your experience is disrupted as little as possible. We have replaced old equipment and added new such as boilers, upgraded internet/ WIFI, cleaning equipment and more. We have enhanced our pool water treatment too with a considerable investment in a UV system to improve our water quality even further.
I am happy to say we are currently working on some really exciting projects for 2025 that will further improve your Holmer Park experience and should we obtain the necessary permissions, I know you’ll love them.
Our team has continued to flourish with internal promotions and the introduction of a new training platform, Mustard. This allows our team to train and develop in so many areas that will enhance your Holmer Park experience. Our Team Member of the month has this year been awarded to Julie, Helen, Diane, Hannah, Alisha, Stu, Joel, Mia, Lisa, Chris and Danica. I am very proud to read some of the lovely comments we receive about the team and I am extremely grateful to all 60+ of them for their hard work and dedication.
Finally as we go into January 25 I will have overseen Holmer Park for 10 years. Lots has changed and I cannot tell you how thankful I am for the support I have had from you, our team and Mosaic HQ. I am proud to be joined by 8 other colleagues that have worked at Holmer Park over 10 years, including Club Administrator Chris who has worked at Holmer Park from when the club first opened in 2006.
Many thanks for your support and may I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Kind regards
Steven Chadwick
