Hello and welcome to Holmer’s Headlines. I am sorry I haven’t been in touch over the last couple of months, it has been a busy period for us.
Firstly, I just wanted to let you know of the member events coming up over the next few weeks including Gin and Wine tasting on the 19th May (fully booked) and a craft workshop on the 25th May 11:00-13:00 which we have been able to reduce the fee to £10 so please do book your space asap! Many of you will be glad to read too that our Curry & Quiz night is back on the 23rd June, starting at 6pm.
Other events and workshops include:
7th July- Diet and Wellness 12 week programme with Alice, the Hereford Dietician (we will send a separate email with details of this shortly) 9th July- In club Triathlon starting at 7:30am 22nd July- Picnic in the (Holmer) park 13:30-18:00 TBC- Yoga and Wellness retreat, including meditation by Temple Spa
You can book club events at the café and posters with more detailed information will be displayed in club as well as on the blackboard next to the café. All our events are for club members, but as usual we will try and have some spaces for members friends and family members.
Next, you may remember when I wrote to you a few months ago I mentioned we were improving lighting across the whole building to improve energy efficiency. We have completed most areas and the pool hall was next on the list and planned for June. However, the lighting has deteriorated much quicker than we expected so we have had to bring this work forward by 2 weeks. Therefore, to complete this work safely, it is necessary to close the pool hall at 6pm on Wednesday 25th May and this does mean Aquafit will be cancelled. The changing rooms and gym will remain open. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.
We have also purchased a new rack for the free weights in the gym and when that is installed we will be making some improvements to the décor in that area. We are fully refurbishing the accessible changing room in the pool hall as well as installing extra hand rails and installing a new gym door with a window to improve accessibility at the club. Thank you for your anticipated understanding whilst we carry out these projects to improve your club.
Away from club news, our friends Magna Performing Arts are holding their next performance, a comedy titled “Fitbit”, at Credenhill Community Hall on 26th, 27th and 28th May and we are proud to support them again by sponsoring the performance. I am really pleased that we are able to support local groups and I hope some of you are able to go along and see it. For ticket information, please see their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/magnadramagroup/
I am also delighted to announce that we will continue to sponsor the main stand next season at Westfields Football Club and wish them every success on and off the pitch!
Finally, we had so many nominations for team member of the month which is great to see. We do everything we can to ensure your visits to Holmer Park are enjoyable and I am very proud of the work my colleagues at the club do. This month I am delighted to say that team members of the month for March and April are Housekeeper Rachel and F&B team members Lacey and Mia. Well done and thank you very much for your hard work.
We had other lovely nominations too for Lisa F, Laura, Kat, Morgan, Chelsea, Sam, Ivan, Hannah and Paige.
If you would like to speak about club news, do email me direct me [email protected]. Otherwise, thank you for being part of the Holmer Park family and I look forward to seeing you in the club soon.
Kind regards,
Steven Chadwick General Manager [email protected]
